PostSubject: problem with my drum tracks   Thu Nov 11, 2010 9:00 am

I'm not sure how to explain this, but at more than one moment in my songs, the drum track gets really low unexpectingly, and then goes back to normal volume.

here is a demo of the drum tracks:

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=9861999

once at 0:21 and then again at 1:05 and once more at 3:22 and one last time around 4:08

FYI: there are times in the track where there is no drum at all, this is intended Smile

please help Sad, and also, what do you guys think of the sound the drum has? should I work it a bit ?

EDIT: I've even tried re-importing the drum tracks, and it still does it :/

sounds like a trial version of the software to me.

many companies let you use their product. if not registered sudden "cuts" of the sound occur like yours.

is your software registered?

my question if you imported them as a wav file or not was dumb.

when the software version is not registered even at wav rendering it "cuts" the sound on purpose.

well the efficient and legit to way to evaluate the trial version is to pay for it...

If you are dealing with MIDI drums, take a look through the entire track and make sure the velocity for those parts are correct. Sometimes the part may have been accidently edited without you realising it.

I've double checked them all, the midi file itself is fine

it happens mostly with the overheads and sometimes the snare, and I've got no "effect" on my overheads except for an EQ

this is really weird, my only guess would be that you have some exaggerating Heavy Compression somewhere, but I really REALLY doubt thats it.

I don't have any compressions I don't think. I just use HarmoniEQ and make everything sound clearer

I sort of know what's happening, but I don't know how to prevent it.

when the sound lowers in those spots, it's like it's ignoring the effects I put in on the track..

it's hard to explain, but I'll try to explain clearly:

when the sound lowers, it turns off drumagog and my EQ and just plays SD2 with no FX on it for that small moment.

any ideas ?
