So then, we have this:

Literally, I'm still having a bit of trouble gating some of that annoying noise out that are coming from the guitars. This track I played a bit with the master track just for the sake of it. Going to do a fade out at the end, possibly raise the level of the one guitar about half way through as well.
Any tips you can give me? (There's no bass guitar within this mix)

The gate was at the beginning of each track and then one at the end of the 'guitars' folder effect chain.

I had actually asked this same question to Andy Sneap once, he told me to delete the empty areas in my guitar tracks. It really doesn't take as long as it sounds. Very Happy

Also keep in mind, that TOO MUCH Gain adds more unwanted noise,

For Example, You should use less Gain when you Quad track, than when you dual track. The more guitar tracks you have with Distortion, the more the Gain starts to add up, and the more the gain adds up, the more unwanted hissing noise you'll get. Wink

+1 for this method. Fast gates are really only good when there is no noise.

As J3FF said, cutting out the sections where nothing is playing really makes the guitars stand out. A good track to listen to hear this technique is The Acacia Strain - Jonestown. All the stop start riffs are a perfect example. Could be the noisiest damn guitar track ever, as soon as you press delete or silence/mute....BYE BYE NOISE Very Happy

sorted!
this is all coming together nicely now, remixing the guitars a bit and cutting out the empty spaces. I did cut some bits, just not to the extent that I needed to =]

cheers for the help guys Very Happy
