PostSubject: What DAW are you using(Digital Audio Workstation)?   Mon Aug 23, 2010 11:47 am

I've used Cubase, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Ableton live (...) and now I am using Reaper!

I like its interface, its simplicity and runs smoothly. I love it!!

What's your favourite daw(s) and why??

I used to work on Cubase when I first started cause i thought it was the best or "industry-standard" as they used to say to me.

But after my own research I found out that there are many options out there and cubase is definitely not for the beginners.

Mixcraft is easy to go..
Or try Reaper its trial never stops (even if the say it stops after 30 days) and if you like it go and buy the non-commercial license which is about 60$ cheers

Been testing Samplitude lately and I like it a lot. Still, Reaper is the tried and trusted...

REAPER!

all day.

all long.

it takes all the best DAWs and combines the two cracks for a unity of crack smoking power.

i used to use sony acid 6 for a very long time as it was easy to use but it always would lose my projects as it would crash when i did alot of tracks or used certain vsts, i didnt think reaper was that good years ago becoz it was free but how wrong i was, i now use it all the time as it is powerfull yet stable and yet such a small program.

Cubase, I have used it for years and know it well. I suppose its become a habit!!

Quite like Pro-Tools but I am most comfortable with Cubase

I think in a few years Reaper is going to dominate any other DAW. the reason? Reaper listens to it's users. It's like if you have a REALLY good idea for reaper and you let them know, they'll actually add it in. How awesome is that.

I must to try Reaper.
It*s only 4.9MB installer.
Questions for all Reaper Users:
Do you have any installation problem or any other problems on PC (Windows XP).
How it works in combination with Cubase.(Rewire)

I have no issues at all. Just hit install and you are ready to go!
Hm what do you mean exactly.. in combination with Cubase?

For me Reaper is more stable and user-friendly if this is what you want me to answer.
But thats just me Wink

Combination with Cubase:
I mean rewire.I usually use Ableton live rewired with cubase.
You can make midi in Cubase and then use rewire Live or Reason modules, instruments, sounds .... from them at the same time.

as far as i know rewiring reaper with cubase is acceptable but Cubase should act like a host and not as slave.

Am I the only person here that uses Pro-tools? haha

I FEEL LEFT OUT SENDER!!! No pro-tools button for me Sad

Mixing - Pro-tools + Cubase.
Mastering - Wavelabs.
